Raila Skips NASA Meeting as Mudavadi is Endorsed ANC Presidential Candidate

CORD leader Raila Odinga on Friday failed to attend a meeting where Musalia Mudavadi was endorsed as the Amani National Congress (ANC) presidential candidate.

Odinga, was expected to grace the ANC Party National Governing Council (NGC) meeting held at Lavington in Nairobi, as they spearhead the formation of NASA – the National Super alliance.

The former Prime Minister instead sent Siaya Senator James Orengo to represent him but his absence was not explained.

Mudavadi has been spearheading the formation of the alliance and hopes to bring together, Mr Odinga, Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula and Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto.

Speaking during the meeting, Mudavadi urged the Opposition leaders to work together if they want to defeat President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2017 Elections.

“Kenya is on its deathbed, bleeding and moaning over the rampant corruption within the Jubilee. It is the time to make painful sacrifices to save Kenya. We will betray Kenyans if we differ because it’s not about who, but what we can do for the people,” the ANC leader stated.

The Opposition leaders believe the formation of Super Alliance will kick the Jubilee administration out of power.

Meanwhile, Kenyatta on Thursday dismissed the formation of NASA stating that it was only driven by selfish interests but not the interests of the people.
