Raila to Visit His Daughter Rosemary in South Africa

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga will fly to South Africa on Thursday just a day after being treated for food poisoning.

Odinga's spokesman Dennis Onyango divulged that the Opposition leader would jet out of the country to visit his daughter Rosemary, who is recuperating in a South African hospital.

“Mr Odinga will leave for South Africa tomorrow at midday to visit his ailing daughter Rosemary Odinga,” Onyango told Citizen Digital.

Raila was expected to grace the closing of the fourth annual devolution conference in Naivasha on Thursday but following the unfortunate incident, he cancelled the trip and will be represented by Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula.

Earlier on Wednesday, the ODM leader was rushed to the Karen Hospital where he was diagnosed with food poisoning.

He was treated and discharged to recuperate at home.

The former Prime Minister later confirmed the reports stating: “I am recovering at home after food poisoning treatment.”

A week ago, Odinga's daughter was taken ill and was flown out of the country to an undisclosed hospital in South Africa for further treatment.

Before being leaving the country, Raila's daughter was reported to be suffering from Meningioma - a non-cancerous and often harmless brain tumour that may cause pressure on the brain and mainly affects middle-aged women.
