A section of Jubilee legislators led by National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale on Wednesday claimed that ODM leader Raila Odinga's trips across the country and abroad are catered by CORD governors.
Speaking at parliament buildings, Duale alleged that the billions of shillings lost in CORD counties have also been used to cater for Odinga's accommodation and flights during his campaign rallies.
"Raila receives monthly stipends from all county governments under CORD. They pay for his rallies, accommodation and flights. We want Raila to come out and refund the millions given to him as stipends.
“We have evidence of how he (Raila) has been a ghost worker in all the CORD counties for the last three years. Let him respond and we will table the evidence,” Duale stated.
The legislator questioned how the former Prime Minister could defend Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi after it emerged that Sh51 Million was lost from the county coffers.
Duale stated that Odinga applied double standards when it came to matters corruption, stating that he lacked the moral authority to lecture President Uhuru Kenyatta.
“He should no longer lecture Kenyans on the issue of corruption. It is Raila who said the buck stops with President Uhuru Kenyatta when there is corruption in Government. The buck stops with Raila Odinga when it comes to his governors," the MP affirmed.
The allegations emerged after the office of the auditor General revealed that millions of shillings had been lost in ODM counties.
In Mombasa County, Governor Hassan Joho could not account for Sh165 Million while in Nairobi, Evans Kidero could not account for Sh33 Million parking fees.
