REVEALED: Why Uhuru Sent Home All PSCU Directors

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday unceremoniously sent home all directors of the Presidential Strategic Communication Unit (PSCU) apart from the State House Spokesman, Manoah Esipisu.

A statement issued by Deputy Chief of Staff Nzioka Waita to the PSCU Directors read: “As for now, everybody sit tight at home. You will be recalled.”

Sources privy to the suspension revealed that the President was concerned about the leaking of uncertified information to the public as well as unstructured communication by the team.

Other reports indicate that the Head of State was bothered by how the team had been responding to issues concerning the government without following media procedures.

The affected PSCU directors include Head of Public Communications Munyori Buku, Chief of Messaging at the Presidency Eric Ng’eno, Branding and Events Head James Kinyua, and Digital and Diaspora Communications Manager Dennis Itumbi.

The four were locked out of State House following a strict directive to the security team not to allow the affected officials into the premises.

According to Mr Waita, the PSCU team will be restructured in the shortest time possible with an emphasis on more organized communication.

The President is expected to give further directions on the happenings at the office.
