Schools within Nairobi Closed For POTUS Visit

Schools within Nairobi city center will remain closed today in anticipation of Barrack Obama’s visit into the country for the Global Entrepreneurship Summit.

Capital Fm reports that schools like Makini School, Riara, Jonathan Gloag, Waridi Nursery, Shani Kindergarten and All Saints Primary School sent letters to parents not to send their children to school.

The schools were worried of the anticipated traffic nightmare as a result of Obama’s visit.

Most universities within the city will also remain closed.

According to The Nation, the University of Nairobi and Kenyatta University’s town campus will remain open.

Some universities have had to reschedule Continuous Assessment Tests that were slated for today.

Students in the town campuses had urged their administrations to cancel all classes for fear that they would not get home today.

Police have announced that traffic will be disrupted on major roads in Nairobi from Friday 2pm, hours before Obama arrives.
