Senator Paul Njoroge to be Presidential Running Mate in 2022

Jubilee nominated Senator Paul Njoroge who was recently involved in gun drama with Vivo CEO Polycarp Igathe has stated that he will be a presidential running mate in 2022 General Election.

Speaking during an interview with a local daily, Njoroge expressed his interest in the country's top leadership as a Deputy President.

Njoroge stated that in the August 8 election, he will first vie for Nakuru gubernatorial seat on a KANU ticket and will support President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election.

If elected, he added that he will run the county for one term where he will focus on creating more impact using the money allocated to counties, and then join the presidential race in the 2022 polls.

He, however, indicated that he was not sure of the candidate he will deputise at that time.

“I will serve as governor for the five years to prove that it is possible to have a corrupt-free leader. Thereafter, I will be a running mate in 2022, for a presidential candidate whom I don’t know at the moment,” he divulged.

Addressing the shooting incident, the Senator explained that he was forced to respond in a bid to scare away goons who wanted to evict him from his premises.

“I never fought with anyone. I could not run because I have a disability. I had to fire in the air to scare the goons,” he defended himself.

He added that he had quit Jubilee for KANU since he suspected the upcoming party primaries would not free and fair.

On Wednesday, the Senator was captured on camera shooting at Igathe who had led officials from the company to take away assets of a petrol station which he (Njoroge) had apparently failed to manage.
