Residents in Nyeri were left shocked after two women were caught stealing from guests who had attended the beatification ceremony of Sister Irene Stefani.
In what some are calling blasphemous, the two women dressed up as nuns and walked into a hostel at Kimathi University of Technology on Friday night and stole two bags belonging to foreign nuns.
The daring move however did not go unnoticed as the real nuns called them out on their lie, forcing security officers to throw them out.
According to The Standard, the women were arrested and taken to a police station, awaiting investigations.
The ceremony saw thousands throng the town for the rare event, among them men and women trying to make a quick shilling through whichever means possible.
At the same event a man was caught printing fake programme booklets intending to sell them to unsuspecting attendants.
