A Kilifi Member of County Assembly (MCA), who was affiliated with the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), on Monday evening mysteriously died in a Public Service Vehicle.
Shimo La Tewa Ward Rep Bakari Ali Munyi is said to have passed on while travelling in a bus from Mombasa to Nairobi and the cause of his the death is yet to be established.
Reports indicate that the lawmaker collapsed and died with police ruling out the possibility of foul play in the incident.
Investigations into the cause of the death are still ongoing.
Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi has since expressed his condolences stating: "Saddened by the demise of Shimo la Tewa ward MCA Hon Bakari Ali. My heartfelt condolences to friends & family".
