Burial arrangements in Bundo, Nyamira county turned into complete pandemonium after the baby allegedly came back to life.
Reports indicate that the mother of the baby had given birth prematurely at seven months while at home on Sunday.
Both the lady and her baby were taken to Nyamira Level Five Hospital.
The baby was put in the nursery at the hospital but unfortunately was pronounced dead on Tuesday.
The family began the burial arrangements while the grieving mother remained in hospital.
She requested to see her dead child so she could pay her last respects and the hospital staff granted her wish.
According to Citizen News, the mother was shocked to find the supposedly dead child smiling at her when the coffin was opened.
The lady remains admitted in hospital but is reportedly elated that her child is alive.
