Police in Kisumu County have shot dead a man believed to be part of a notorious gang, that has been terrorising residents in the area.
The man identified as Mohammed Hussein alias Mzito was shot dead on Sunday at 1am in Bandani area following a tip off by residents.
According to County police commandant Nelson Njiiri, residents informed the police of a criminal operating with a gang in the area.
Police who responded to the distress call shot the man dead after he failed to surrender, approaching the police with a panga.
The police Commandant noted that the gang operates in Nyalenda, Manyatta, Obunga, Nyamasaria, Migosi and Airport areas.
