Thomas Letangule Bank Account Frozen Over Sh1.8 Billion

One of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) officials who recently left office has suffered a major setback after his bank account was frozen.

The court on Friday blocked the account of Thomas Letangule and two other lawyers in a Sh1.8 Billion case.

The three are said to have represented over 2000 employees of Telkom Kenya who were earlier on retrenched.

The company is said to have awarded the Billions to the workers but they did not receive the full amounts they deserved.

Letangule's account is said to have been credited with Sh1.3 Billion while Sh500 Million was given to his counterpart on behalf of the workers.

According to the retrenched employees, less money was, however, deposited in their accounts despite having a clear agreement on how the money would be shared.

Giving her ruling, Justice Grace Nzioka ordered the lawyers to appear in court to explain how they used the money received on behalf of the workers.
