A man and his girlfriend have been hospitalized in Maua Methodist Hospital, Meru County after taking poison.
The man identified as Amos is said to have forced his girlfriend identified as Rose to take the poison after it became clear that the lady would not accept his marriage proposal.
Neighbors rushed into their house after they heard a commotion and rushed the two to hospital.
They are currently recovering in hospital.
