Tranzoia Gubernatorial Aspirants Locked Out in Favour of Incumbent Patrick Khaemba

Three NASA politicians, who are in the Ford-Kenya Party led by Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula, have been locked out of the Trans Nzoia Gubernatorial nominations in favour of incumbent Governor Patrick Khaemba.

Andrew Wanyonyi, John Mutenyo and Moses Khaoya were hoping to face off with Khaemba in the nominations to be held on Monday.

In a statement on Thursday, the party's Communications Director Tim Machi highlighted that the management committee settled on the current governor to guard the party against a fractious process.

"Among other issues, it sought to pick and field the current governor by consensus," Mr Machi stated.

Machi, however, mentioned the committee will engage the county branch office and the three aspirants to help Ford-Kenya retain the governor's seat.

He noted that all other Ford-Kenya members except Mr Khaemba will participate in the April 24th nominations.

Mr Khaemba will be defending his seat in the August 8 poll.
