#KudosKalonzo

The hashtag was fueled by a confidential letter making rounds on Twitter which purports that the National Super Alliance (NASA) has appointed Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka as its presidential candidate.

The document claimed that the agreement had been made pending ratification from NASA delegates.

This sparked varied reactions from netizens who congratulated Musyoka for the selection while others dismissed the document as a forgery.

Mogadishu

The topic was trending following the inauguration of Somalia President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo in an event that took place in Mogadishu, the country's capital.

The ceremony was also attended by President Uhuru Kenyatta who landed there in the morning and left immediately after Farmajo's swearing in.

Mwingi

The killing of three people in Mwingi county was the topic of discussion for the better part of this morning given that earlier attacks in the same area had led to the death of more than 25 people.

On Tuesday evening, armed bandits attacked Kathungu shopping centre and sprayed residents with bullets killing three and injuring five others.

This was reported a few minutes after a security meeting had been held in the area where residents were assured of safety.

NASA leaders signed a power-sharing deal which was crafted to ensure unity of Opposition in preparation for the August 8 Election.

During the signing of the deal, ODM leader Raila Odinga announced that the Alliance would hold it first public rally on Saturday in Eldoret.

Mwende

Jackline Mwende, who hit headlines when her hands were allegedly chopped off by her husband, has now claimed that she lied about the incident.

Mwende, who earlier stated that her husband attacked her because of failing to conceive, on Tuesday changed the narrative explaining that she was brutalised due to her infidelity.

The confession sparked mixed reactions with a majority expressing anger that she propagated a falsehood regarding the incident.
