2.7m Kenyans

This topic was trending after the government announced that 2.7 Million Kenyans are facing starvation in 23 Counties across the country and appealed for Sh11 Billion to fight the ongoing disaster.

A section of Kenyans engaging in this topic, however, continued to mock the government for misappropriation of funds as its citizens continue to suffer due to drought and other challenges.

This hashtag began trending after Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero was hosted on Ghetto Radio’s morning breakfast show on Thursday morning.

Kidero’s appearance on the show came exactly a week after his rival in the Governor race, Peter Kenneth was hosted on the same station.

This provided fodder for critics to accuse Governor Kidero of copying Kenneth.

Eric Kiraithe

Government Spokesman Eric Kiraithe was on the trends after a clip of him seemingly admitting that the government has a budget for corruption was unveiled.

Kiraithe was speaking during a public forum with striking doctors, where he was taken to task on a number of issues including a rare question on whether the government had set aside funds to support corruption.

In the clip doing rounds on social media, his response was cut at the point where he said "of course the government has a huge budget for corruption", leaving out the part where he went ahead to explain his response.
