Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago and Over 200 Jubilee Politicians Threaten to Boycott Nominations

Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago and several other Jubilee aspirants in the North Rift region have threatened to boycott the rescheduled party primaries.

According to the politicians, the party leadership has hatched a plot to rig them out during the nominations.

The politicians in a resolution read by Soy Parliamentary aspirant Julius Korir demanded that the Jubilee National Elections Board vice chairperson Vesca Kangogo should be barred from dealing with the nominations in the county.

The leaders also demanded that the party should destroy all ballot papers distributed on Friday and provide new materials that will be enough for the entire county.

"There will be no elections in Uasin Gishu unless the party abides by our resolutions," Korir stated.

The team also wants the tallying center to be moved and returning officers and polling clerks posted in the region be reshuffled.

The leaders led by Governor Mandago, Kapsaret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi and his Nandi Hills Counterpart Alfred Keter had earlier claimed that there was a plan to rig them out.

The Jubilee nominations in the North rift region are scheduled to be conducted in the county on Tuesday, April 25 alongside twenty-six other counties.

On Friday, the Jubilee nomination in twenty-one counties were canceled following an outcry from supporters and aspirants over the lack of enough voting material compared to the number of registered voters.
