Uhuru Forms New Jubilee Campaign Team in Luo-Nyanza

President Uhuru Kenyatta has made changes to his Jubilee campaign team in Luo-Nyanza after the defection of former TNA secretary General Onyango Oloo to the Orange Party.

Mr Kenyatta has now appointed Raphael Tuju, who is the head of the Jubilee Party Secretariat, as the head of the new campaign team in the region.

Other members include Nominated Senator Joy Gwendo, Rachuonyo Member of Parliament (MP) James Rege, lawyer Ambrose Weda and Atieno Atieno, who is the chairperson of the Maendeleo Ya Wanawake in Kisumu County.

Tuju and Mr Rege will be in charge of spearheading campaigns in Homa Bay and Siaya Counties while the nominated Senator Atieno and Weda will be in charge of Kisumu County.

The new team has been mandated with campaigning and soliciting votes for Kenyatta ahead of the August 8 Election.

Confirming the formation of the new team, Ms Gwendo divulged that they had already hit the ground running.

“We have already started work and I can assure you we will get more votes for President Uhuru like never before,” Gwendo was quoted.

Oloo, who had been spearheading Uhuru’s campaign team in the Luo-Nyanza region, dismissed formation of the team stating, “those are a bunch of losers… What value is Rege to the President anyway because he would not even retain his seat? And who doesn’t know that Gwendo is an opportunist.”
