Uhuru Lashes Out at MPs Ferdinand Waititu and Alice Ng'ang'a for Telling Kiambu Residents Not to Vote

President Uhuru Kenyatta has hit out at two Jubilee Members of Parliament (MPs) for telling Kiambu residents not to vote during the August 8 Election if a road in Limuru is not repaired.

Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu and his Thika counterpart Alice Ng'ang'a were last week captured in a video telling locals in Limuru to collect their IDs but not vote until the road which cuts across Limuru and Kabete constituencies was fixed.

"Everyone who has been elected must first repair this road if they want to be re-elected. When Uhuru comes here, he too should be told to repair this road before the elections are held," Waititu said.

Ms Ng'ang'a added: "When the Head of State comes, the first issue he should address before telling us to collect IDs and register is this road."

Speaking during a rally in Kiambu County, a visibly infuriated Kenyatta lashed out at the two MPs questioning why they would tell registered voters not to vote yet he was seeking a second term in office.

The Head of State urged residents to ignore the two MPs and turn out in large numbers to ensure he emerged the winner in the upcoming polls.

Meanwhile, the Kabete MP has refuted the allegations stating that he was misunderstood on the matter.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, a journalist based in Kiambu County divulged that the two MPs were only inciting residents stating that the road had been previously repaired.

According to the source, the road got damaged recently and the residents had not protested.
