Uhuru to Reward Kenyans for Posting #UhuruDabChallenge Photos or Video

President Uhuru Kenyatta has announced that he will reward Kenyans for performing what he termed as #UhuruDabChallenge.

Through his Twitter account, Kenyatta invited, especially the youth, to participate in the challenge as a way of mobilising more people to enlist as voters as the registration exercise draws to an end.

President Kenyatta called on all interested citizens to take a photo or a 30-second video performing the popular dance style after they register and post it on his Twitter or Facebook account.

"#Dab near an IEBC registration Centre JUST AFTER either you or your friends have REGISTERED as voters. Post your #Dab picture or a 3- second video here on my Twitter account or on http://facebook.com/myuhurukenyatta,” he stated.

The photos and videos will then be assessed upon completion of the registration exercise and whoever emerges victorious will be rewarded, including getting to visit State House.

“The person or group whose picture or video gets the MOST likes, loves or retweets at the end of the remaining 5 days of voter registration will be rewarded for their patriotism, including visiting with me at State House,” he promised.

The Head of State explained that the exercise would help in supporting the campaign for youths to register as voters.

Kenyatta on Wednesday hosted a group of youth including gospel artist Rufftone and award winning dance crew FBI as he continued with his voter mobilisation drive.

After the visit, he posted photos and a video while performing the dab style with dance group as a way of reaching out to the youth.

The stunt, however, seemed to have backfired after netizens angrily reacted criticising the President for engaging in public relations while the country was facing challenges such as drought and the doctors' strike.
