Uhuru to Tour Kiambu County as Raila Heads to Nigeria

The weekend is finally here; and as always, political activities will be going into an overdrive as politicians tighten their vote-hunting missions ahead of the August 8 polls.

Kenyans.co.ke has looked into the weekend diaries of some of the top leaders including President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition Chief Raila Odinga.

On Saturday, President Kenyatta will be touring different parts of Kiambu County as he seeks to consolidate his support in the region.

ODM leader Raila Odinga will on Saturday attend the grand opening of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Nigeria, which is named after the country's former president.

Odinga left for Nigeria on Friday noon while accompanied by former Tanzanian President Benjamin Mkapa and he is expected to fly back into the country next week.

Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi will on Saturday kick off his two-day tour of Mombasa County to popularise his party which is under the National Super Alliance (NASA).

Mudavadi will open an ANC office in Tudor area before proceeding to Frere Town in Nyali where he will hold a rally.

On Sunday, he will hold another rally at Likoni area after having a meeting with the Muslim community.

Meanwhile, Uhuru on Friday presided over the passing out of police recruits at the Kenya Police College in Kiganjo and is expected to return to Nyeri on Monday to attend the burial of former governor Nderitu Gachagua.
