VIDEO: Chiefs Undressed In Public After Sacking

A section of chiefs from Kirinyaga County went through a devastating public humiliation after Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho sacked them in public and took their uniforms.

Dr Kibichio ordered the administrators to hand over their official regalia after illicit brews were impounded from their backyard.

“There are people here I want to return back my uniforms,” Karanja told the gathering, where the chiefs were in attendance.

“We as government our work is to protect you from being killed by anybody,” he added.

The chiefs were sacked as the PS stepped up the fight against illicit brews in the Mount Kenya region. The alcohol menace re-emerged in the region even after the crackdown ordered by President Uhuru Kenyatta last year.

The PS dismissed those criticising his public sackings as an exercise of high-handedness, emphasizing that he would not relent as the illicit liquor had killed more than 30,000 people from the Central region.

So far, Dr Karanja has publicly sacked 19 chiefs from the area, whose replacements are currently on the process, and has promised to continue with the disciplinary action.
