VIDEO: Khalwale Muscled by Police Officers During Protests

Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale was on Monday bundled into a police car after being arrested while leading anti-IEBC demonstrators in the County.

The Senator, who tried to protest the arrest, faced the wrath of officers who dragged him to a waiting vehicle after dispersing protesters.

Khalwale was at one point seen leading a crowd while shouting in the face of officers the slogan: 'we don't want tear gas!'

As the multitude surged forward, security agents lobbed tear gas to scatter protesters with the lawmaker eventually being apprehended.

He was briefly detained at Kakamega Police Station before being released and is set to be arraigned in court.

In Mombasa, County Assembly Speaker Thadius Rajwahi and Junda MCA Paul Onje were arrested during similar protests in the region.

The two politicians were taken to Central Police Station alongside 11 other protesters who were waiting for Governor Hassan Joho outside Uhuru Gardens to start off the demonstrations.
