VIDEO: MP 'Reveals' Plan to Sell Meru Community

A Member of Parliament (MP) from Meru County has come out to unleash glaring allegations against Meru Senator Kiraitu Murungi and Igembe South MP Mithika Linturi.

In a video circulating on social media, Imenti Central legislator Gideon Mwiti accuses the two leaders of betraying the Meru electorate, claiming that they had 'sold' their community.

The MP, who is seemingly drunk, went ahead to caution residents of the County against voting for the two leaders, alleging that they had not helped the county during their times in politics.

Mwiti viciously attacked Kiraitu and Linturi, claiming that their leadership would be 'fatal' to residents of the vote-rich region urging the Meru Senator to retire from politics.

According to the lawmaker, Kiraitu was planning to vie for Meru's gubernatorial seat with Linturi eying the Senate seat, a combination which he claimed would be a beginning of the County's downfall.

“Now Kiraitu want to join with Mithika so that Meru will be finished. All money will be stolen from you. They will sell Meru the way we sell potatoes in the market [sic],” Mwiti sluggishly stated.

Mwiti had earlier on sparked an online buzz after appearing on a photograph kneeling before Deputy President William Ruto over the weekend.

It was not clear why the lawmaker pulled such a stunt at a fundraiser in a Secondary School within the County, with some describing the action as 'sycophancy at its best'.
