VIDEO: Raila, Kalonzo 'Washed' With Itchy Police Water

CORD leader Raila Odinga and his co-principals were Monday forcefully prevented from converging at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission Offices in Nairobi.

Anti-riot police on standby lobbed tear gas and used water cannons on the Opposition's convoy which was making its way to University Way where the leaders were to camp outside the electoral body's  offices as previously witnessed.

Upon arriving near the IEBC offices from Odinga's Capitol Hill office, the Opposition Chief and Kalonzo Musyoka were dispersed even before they could reach the poll body head offices.

Police further engaged protesters in running battles around the city following a proclamation by Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinett that Monday's protests had been outlawed.

On Sunday, CORD leaders vowed to stage “the mother of all demos” in a bid to force IEBC commissioners out of office and accused the Government of planning to cause chaos.

CORD supporters went ahead to demonstrate in Kisumu, Mombasa, Kakamega, Siaya, Meru, Homabay and other major towns across the country.

However, anti-riot police forcefully repulsed crowds suspected to be gearing up for the protests with several people being arrested.
