Video: Rudisha is Back, Bett Makes History

The king is back, back with a bang!

World 800m record holder David Rudisha on Tuesday afternoon won a gold medal for Kenya in a stellar performance at the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Championships in Beijing, China.

Rudisha finished the race in a time of 1.45.84 which is his best since he suffered an injury that has seen him miss several competitions in the past year.

The injury took toll on him at the 54th Ostrava Golden Spike where he pulled out of a race. The World and Olympic Champion was also beaten by the 20-year- old Nijel Amos from Botswana at Glasgow Finals this year.

His win is seen by experts as a signature comeback in the game.

Kenya also made history when 23-year-old Nicholas Bett bagged the country's first gold medal in 400m hurdles. Kenya is not known to be good in sprints but Bett seemed to be focused to change the stereotype.

Bett crossed the line in 47.79 seconds breaking the national record of 48.24 set by Eric Keter.

Kenya currently tops the table standings with a total of 9 medals.

Kenyans flooded social media sites to congratulate the two runners.
