VIDEO: Lion Attacks Man on Mombasa Road

A lion on the loose Friday morning attacked a man along Mombasa road near the City Cabanas footbridge.

The elderly man was reportedly attacked when the wild cat ran scared owing to the frantic hooting and screams from motorists and pedestrians.

The Kenya Wildlife Service dispatched a team minutes after the alert to capture the big cat roaming along the highway.

Through its Twitter account, the wildlife management confirmed that its officers had taken control over the 'king of the jungle', and the victim had been rushed to hospital.

According to doctor at Mater Hospital, the injured man sustained fractures and other minor injuries.

The incident comes barely two days after stray lions attacked over 70 sheep at a farm in Syokimau estate.

Last month, six lions escaped from the National park causing fear among Lang'ata residents, while two of the big cats were spotted on the road near Lang'ata hospital.
