The ceremony follows the launch of the Kenya Week by the President in a series of events dubbed “Kenya, the land of possibilities” at the Milan Expo.

The President had dinner with Kenyans alongside several Cabinet Secretaries who had accompanied him for the trip.

The night full of pomp and colour saw President Kenyatta and other guests break into dance, as gospel singer Emmy Kosgei entertained them.

Uhuru has been in Italy for three days on a state visit where he has been promoting Kenya’s cultural and business opportunities.

Since his arrival, he has held discussions with Italy's Government focused on fostering relations with Kenya.

After meeting Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, the Italian Government offered to extend and expand its debt swap program by injecting Sh4.2 Billion into key socio-economic projects in Kenya.

Italy's government also offered its support to Kenya’s war against terrorism, through the training of Kenya police officers in counter-terrorism.
