Wanyama Refuses to Play as His Team Lose Europa League Qualifications

Southampton Football club midfielder and Harambee Stars skipper Victor Wanyama, is alleged to have refused to play for his English Premier League team.

The Kenyan football icon is said to be seeking way out of the club.

Earlier reports have linked the Southampton big-man with a move to London's Tottenham Hotspurs.

Tottenham's coach Mouricio Pochettino is known to be a long-time admirer of Wanyama. He was his coach during the midfielder's time at Celtic FC

It is also rumored that Wanyama has fallen out with current Southampton manager Ronald Koeman.

Speculations abound that Wanyama could also have been discouraged by the departure of Southampton's key players, Morgan Schneiderlin and Nathaniel Clyne, who joined Manchester United and Liverpool respectively.

Despite all this, Southampton's coach is still adamant to keep the Kenyan player at the club saying, they can't afford to lose any more players.

Wanyama was left out of the squad for Thursday night's Europa League qualifications match against FC Midtjylland, after his doctors said he was unwell.

However, it has emerged that the player asked to be left out of the roster.

His team lost 1-0 to the Danish team.

Wanyama is now left with three days, till the close of the transfer window, for his future to be determined.
