We Ate Biscuits and Juice then Played - Harambee Stars Player

National football team, Harambee Stars was on Tuesday night eliminated from the 2018 World Cup campaign after suffering a 2-0 defeat in the hands of Cape Verde.

Despite the loss, Kenyans took to social media to congratulate the team for trying their best amid the challenges they beared prior to the match. The team is said to have landed in Cape Verde barely three hours before the game kicked off after a 22 hour flight, and had to play without proper rest, training and feeding.

Some players have now come out to reveal the frustrations they undergo when playing for Kenya.

In a facebook post, striker Kelly Mutunge, revealed how the players allegedly traveled for 22 hours surviving on biscuits and juice. Mutunge said that they headed straight to the stadium after arriving and further questioned how long such disorganisations would continue.

Through his twitter handle, Stars goalkeeper, Anorld Origi, also talked about the tribulations that national team players normally go through saying that finally Kenyans got know about them.

The sentiments indicate the sacrifice players make for the country, despite being subjected to unfair treatment by Football Kenya Federation (FKF) which is in charge of the team when participating in international competitions.

The Federation has been criticized for poor management of football affairs and has been accused of embezzlement of funds.

On Tuesday, the Federation's President, Samuel Nyamweya, was grilled for five hours at the Directorate of Criminal Investigation over the teams flight delay, a move that was applauded by many soccer fans.
