Elders from Kirinyaga County have threatened to curse ODM leader Raila Odinga if he dares link former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru to corruption.
Led by their chairman Benson Njege, the elders warned Odinga to stop linking Waiguru to corruption charges yet she had been cleared by State agencies.
“Mr Odinga has been maligning the name of our daughter yet she has been cleared of all the charges… we will curse him if he utters any word linking Waiguru to corruptions,” Mr Njege warned.
The elders claimed that they could no longer stand seeing Waiguru's name being tarnished by the Opposition leader.
The council further challenged the former Prime Minister to record a statement with the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) if he had any evidence linking Waiguru to the infamous NYS scam.
The former CS announced that she would be vying for the Kirinyaga Gubernatorial seat on a Jubilee ticket.
She will face other contestants who include; incumbent Joseph Ndathi Narc-Kenya’s Martha Karua and Kirinyaga Central MP Gachoki Gitari.
