Woman Charged For Brutally Attacking Daughter Over Avocado

A court in Meru was audience to the shocking story of a woman who ruthlessly abused her eight year old daughter whom she accused of having stolen an avocado.

The accused is said to have committed the crime on the 26th of May this year, Citizen News reports.

When Kagendo's family sat down for supper on the fateful day, she is said to have asked he daughter for the fruit and when the minor failed to produce it, he mother turned on her.

The woman allegedly started beating the child before taking the matter to a whole new level and biting her on the neck, right cheek, ears, hands, left leg and on the back.

To hide the evidence of the attack, Kagendo is said to have locked her daughter in the house the next day and did not allow her to go to school.

Teachers later learnt of the child' ordeal and took her to the hospital for treatment before reporting the matter.

The presiding judge in the case Principal Magistrate Charles Kutwa, put the child under the custody of her father and her aunt.

Condemning the act, the magistrate sentenced Kagendo to two years in prison.
