Woman Kills Cleaner Over Sh100

A 24-year-old woman allegedly stabbed her cleaner after she demanded a Sh100 pay after washing clothes for the accused.

Claire Kasaya who was charged in court on Tuesday, is said to have sparked the conflict after she accused Anne Wangari of stealing Sh270 from her house in Donholm, Nairobi, where she had gone to wash clothes.

In a testimony presented by prosecution counsel Ms Tumini Wafula, Kasaya demanded the deceased to remove the Sh270 from her mouth where she had allegedly hidden it.

The report stated that the cleaner then suddenly picked a kitchen knife and threatened to kill Ms Kasaya, if she failed to pay for her services. This angered Kasaya who retaliated and impacted serious wounds on Wangare who was later pronounced dead.

According to Lady Justice Lessit, the accused was proven to be of sound mind, hence could be sentenced for life as required by law for such a crime.

The court ruled that Ms Kasaya be remanded at the Lang'ata Women Prison until December 22, 2015, when she is expected to take plea and a legal representation be availed to her.
