Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang'ula his Kakamega counterpart Bonny Khalwale and Kiambu Governor William Kabogo were Sunday turned into a laughing-stock after they posted inaccurate messages while congratulating the Kenya Rugby sevens team.
Senator Wetang'ula posted "Hongera safari sevens for the stunning victory" while Khalwale and Kabogo posted tweets indicating that the Kenya 7s team had won the Rugby World Cup rather than the HSBC Rugby World Series, Singapore Circuit.
Kenyans on social media swiftly took on the three politicians to school them, while others decided to make them the butt of every joke.
Governor Kabogo posted; "Congratulation Kenya Sevens on the World Cup win. We are proud of you." while Senator Khalwale tweeted "Congratulations Kenya Sevens for beating Fiji in Singapore to lift the historic Rugby Word Cup [sic]".
Nonetheless, the Kakamega Senator acknowledged the correction while his Kiambu counterpart pulled down the tweet, unfortunately, as it is said, the internet never forgets.
