A man who has been terrorising motorists along Uhuru Highway for a long time was Wednesday night shot dead by police after snatching a mobile phone from a driver.
The thug only identified as Kevo had made off with the phone near parliament buildings when police officers pursued him upto Uhuru Park where they gunned him down.
Kevo was unarmed at the time of his death and his body was later taken to City mortuary.
Police recovered the stolen phone from the suspect and handed it back to the owner.
Incidents of thieves stealing from drivers on the road has been on the rise with passengers seated next to the window while using their phones being the frequent victims.
In a separate incident, eight suspected robbers were on Tuesday night shot dead by police officers cornered by security agents as they were preparing to execute robbery in Mukuru slums.
