Businessman Jacob Juma Shot Dead

Businessman and Jubilee critic Jacob Juma was on Thursday night shot dead by unknown people as he was driving past Lenana School on his way home.

According to Nairobi CID Boss Ireri Kamwende, Juma drove from his bar at around 9.30pm when he met his assailants.

Mr Kamwende stated that Juma's car was found sprayed with about ten bullets by the unknown gunmen who escaped on motorbikes.

Poice confirmed that nothing was stolen during the attack as two mobile phones and money was found in the car.

Juma was at the forefront highlighting major corruption scandals in the country including the EuroBond saga, releasing various documents to prove that the Government could not account for millions of the borrowed proceeds.

Mr Juma fearlessly attacked various leaders in the country linked to corruption and relentlessly called on President Uhuru Kenyatta to act.

“Mr UKenyatta am not a coward. I have reached the pinnacle of my life and am not scared of death. I will not run away from Kenya, my country,” one of his past tweets read.

“I am ready and willing to die for the sake of this nation if that will save us from corruption. I have lived long enough to worry about death,” he added in another old post.

Juma, who was also a big supporter of CORD leader Raila Odinga, more than once said that he would never stay in the comfort zone as Kenya was rotting in corruption.

In the recent demonstration led by CORD to push for the disbandment of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), Juma was together with Odinga and other Opposition leaders in operation 'occupy IEBC offices'.
