Political analyst and Lawyer Miguna Miguna reportedly caused drama on Saturday at the final Mass of the late Mama Lucy Kibaki when he engaged security officers in an altercation.
The analyst is said to have had a slight exchange with guards while being frisked at the Othaya Approved School grounds where the mass was in progress.
During the incident, Miguna was allegedly ordered to remove his personal belongings and belt for checking but hesitated.
The officers manning the gate immediately responded and moved him away from the queue to pave way for people who were willing to go through the security check.
According to a report by the Star, the vocal lawyer was later heard complaining that the guards had not acknowledged him despite having worn his best suit, spectacles and a Muslim cap.
Meanwhile, Opposition leader Raila Odinga raised eyebrows after he conspicuously missed the event despite having a chair reserved for him.
The seat remained unoccupied during the Mama Lucy's final rite with a bottle of water and the eulogy pamphlet on top. Other Opposition leaders including Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula were also absent.
During the Mass, Jimmy Kibaki, the eldest son of former President Mwai Kibaki, delivered a captivating tribute to his mother, which brought a comic relief.
The congregation broke into laughter when he mentioned that a particular Irish priest was always on his case while at St Marys School, Nairobi, adding that President Uhuru Kenyatta had also suffered in the hands of the same cleric.
