Why Kidero Has Suspended Nyambane

The Director of Communications in the Nairobi Governor's office, Walter Mong'are, has been suspended.

According to a letter shared on social media signed by County Secretary Dr Robert Ayisi, Mr Mongare popularly known as Nyambane was advised to "comply with a previous letter" without fail.

"Take note that you should comply with the aforesaid letter from the board dated 3rd May2016 on or before 11th May 2016 failure to which your employment with the County Government will be terminated without further reference to you. In the meantime, you hereby stand suspended from your duties forthwith,"the letter read in part.

Mr Mong'are reportedly got into trouble for failure to deliver in various measures aimed at revamping Governor Evans Kidero's image.

"The fellow was a pure clown. He added little to the Governor's image... His dismissal was in order," the Star quotes a source privy to the suspension.

Efforts by Kenyans.co.ke to reach the communications director bore no fruit as he de not pick our calls.

However, in a report by NairobiNews, Mr Mongare is quoted saying he was not aware of the suspension letter.

“I was surprised myself when I was informed by Tweet from Robert Alai that I was suspended and I was wondering if he is the County Secretary,” he stated.

He further noted resentment in the manner in which the letter was exposed to the public instead of receiving it personally. Mr Mongare concluded that he would continue working until he was served with the letter as per the guidelines provided in the suspension of an officer.

Walter Mong'are rose to fame as a comedian in comic TV show Redykyulass, before working for various radio stations including KISS FM and in the Communication's department of Kisii County .
