The Secretary General of Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU), Francis Atwoli, has viciously attacked some western leaders over what he termed as poor contribution to key national issues like the IEBC stalemate.
Mr Atwoli singled out ODM Secretary General Ababu Namwamba after photos of him taking care of his baby were shared on social media. The COTU secretary general described Namwamba's fatherly photos as a "bad show off".
"Huo ni ushenzi na upumbavu (That is stupid) some of us have more than one wife and grandchildren but we do not go around posting their pictures everywhere," Atwoli stated.
The COTU chairman faulted Namwamba for going missing while his party was busy demonstrating and fighting for the eviction of IEBC commissioners.
Mr Namwamba announced in parliament last week that he had been taking care of his wife Priscilla Namwamba after she gave birth to their third born in April and it was by coincidence the protests began at that time.
“I have been out and about. We got a baby a month ago. So I have been busy on paternity leave,” Ababu confirmed.
However, he affirmed that he would only do things that he had faith in and not simply because he was attached to a certain party.
