VIDEO: Larry Madowo Forced to Apologise on Live TV

NTV Journalist Larry Madowo was on Saturday evening forced to apologise to Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria during a Live TV interview that was largely criticized on social media.

Madowo, who had apparently insisted on hosting the controversial lawmaker, was accused of being ‘biased and unprofessional’ during the interview that was marred by conflicts of opinion.

While Kuria was grounded on giving a general view of happenings in the political arena and his experience at the notorious Pangani Cells, The Trend Show host sought to corner the lawmaker for continuously making inflammatory utterances.

The interview took a chaotic turn when Madowo began delving into previous incidents where the Gatundu South MP has been accused of incitement to violence and even inaccurately cited that Kuria had four pending cases.

Kuria seized that moment to demand an apology, threatening to take legal action against the news anchor.

“I have seen you say I have four cases. I don’t have four cases and because you already pre-formed in your mind who is Moses Kuria, you cannot have some courtesy to do some basic research. Do you know I can even take legal action against you?” Kuria posed.

The Jubilee legislator further stated: “But I cannot take action against you because I know where you are coming from. You are coming from ignorance and the perception that Moses Kuria is a bad person.”

At that moment, the interview, which got Madowo bashed on social media from Saturday evening up until Sunday, had turned into a verbal exchange between the interviewer and interviewee.

Kuria went further to accuse the journalist of being poorly trained on research and demanded an apology from Madowo who reluctantly ate humble pie before bringing the interview to a close.

After the interview, Madowo posted a photo of himself alongside Kuria and captioned it: "Thanks for your time @HonMoses_Kuria. We always have vigorous debate about the issues that divide us #KuriaCellDiary".

Meanwhile, after his interview on NTV, Kuria proceeded to a reggae concert at Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) grounds where Jamaican reggae artiste Chronixx was performing.

The lawmaker made a surprise appearance at around 1am.
