Chinese Man Assaults OCS in Narok

A Chinese national was arrested on Wednesday morning on allegations of assaulting an Officer Commanding Station (OCS) at Duka Moja in Narok County.

Kelvin Hao was accused of hitting Simon Nzuki with a mobile phone on the chest and attempting to attack him with a water bottle.

Hao, who works as a security manager at the standard gauge railway site in the area, is said to have injured the senior police officer on the left side of the chest.

Mr Nzuki was rushed to Nairekia Enkare hospital where he received medical care and was later discharged in a stable condition.

On the other hand, the 25-year old suspect was taken to Nairekia Enkare Police Station with investigations into the incident continuing as he waited to be arraigned in court.

The assault comes amid several incidents which have been reported of foreigners involved in cases of breaking the law with others being in the country illegally.

In November, four Chinese citizens were nabbed and 112 gambling machines recovered during an operation in Milimani estate, Kisumu.

Earlier in the same year, the court ordered for deportation of close to 40 Chinese and Taiwanese nationals who had been apprehended over allegations of running an illegal communications centre in Nairobi.
