Kajiado County Senator Peter Mositet's Bodyguards Disarmed,

Kajiado County Senator Peter Mositet is crying foul after his bodyguards' firearms were withdrawn in unclear circumstances.

Speaking to a local daily, Senator Mositet stated that his life was in danger and the withdrawal of the firearms amounted to political intimidation.

Mositet claimed that his bodyguards had resorted to using rungus and forced him to protest the move to the County Police Commandant.

“I had asked them to accompany me to a place that had some tension and they told me to give them time to look for rungus. When I pressed them they said that they had been asked to return their firearms,” lamented Mositet.

He alleged that he was being targeted because of the stand he took in after the Jubilee Party nominations.

“When I called the County Commandant, he told me that there was no ill-motive. He asked me to tell my bodyguards to go and collect their firearms,” reiterated Mositet.

During the Jubilee nomination campaigns, Senator Mositet was in the opposing camp to that of former Cabinet Secretary Joseph Ole Lenku who was vying for the Jubilee Party gubernatorial ticket.

When he was defeated in the Senatorial race by Philip Mpaayei, Mositet alleged that he had been rigged out of party primaries by forces who did not want him in the party. He later resigned from Jubilee.

“I made it very clear that as people of Kajiado we will not accept to have projects imposed on us from Nairobi.

Mositet explained that he was still opposed to the political projects and asked his supporters to stand firm and elect leaders of their choice.
