Janet Mbugua Reveals Her Acting Experience on Rush TV Series Airing on Showmax

Renowned media personality Janet Mbugua has opened up on her acting career specifically narrating her experience on the TV series, Rush.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, she explained that Rush was a nice challenge that equipped her with a new skill.

"It was a good experience! Different, challenging and I learnt a new skill which is acting," she stated.

Regarding what she misses from being on Rush, Janet mentioned that the cast and crew were great, adding that it meant a lot for her seeing them (cast and crew) and learning from them.

"I also miss the challenge of a new skill! Plus the wardrobe of course," she noted.

On how the show impacted on her life, the former news anchor explained that being part of the cast improved her confidence and made her learn new things.

"It gave me the confidence to try out new things! The only way you can tell whether you're good or bad at something is to try. I enjoyed it," she said.

In the series airing on Showmax, Janet stars as Pendo, the charming owner/editor in chief of Rush Magazine, who perceives herself as a young business mogul in the making.

She has travelled the world and is now extremely business savvy, with a perfect understanding of what goes on in the publishing field.

She has three friends, Liz (Maryanne Nungo), Ruby (Wendy Kimani) and Zoe (Wendy Sankale).

Liz comes from a super-rich family with some old-fashioned moral standards.

Ruby, on the other hand, hates her job but loves classy shoes and is determined to be a professional singer.

Zoe is a successful former model who has built herself a career as an acclaimed photographer.

The four young women tell each other everything - about their personal lives, their likes and dislikes, their struggles in life and their love lives.

Pendo wants to give a voice to the things women go through in their day to day lives and the things they think about but never really speak up on: female sexuality, being a woman in the workplace, work/life balance and the ever-present worry about whether success is on the horizon.

She also educates on how giving back to society among young women and men in an African setting can lead to a successful and lavish career and lifestyle.
