Citizen TV Journalist Attacked at NASA Offices [VIDEO]

Citizen TV Journalist Francis Gachuri has been roughed up the Wiper Party headquarters in Lavington, Nairobi, by a group of NASA supporters.

Reports indicate that NTV Camera Lady Jane Gatwiri was slapped for recording the incident. A KTN reporter was also attacked in the incident.

Gachuri had just finished covering his live links for the 1 pm news when a rowdy group descended on him accusing the senior reporter and his TV station of being biased.

The Opposition supporters attempted to eject the journalists from the venue shouting, "waende waende (let them go)."

The journalists accused some of the NASA leaders who were at the venue of cheering on the goons attacking them instead of controlling the incident.

They, however, decided to walk out of the venue and wait for the opposition leaders to condemn the incident.

The journalists had gone to the offices to cover a Parliamentary Group meeting by NASA leaders led by flag bearer Raila Odinga.

Mr Odinga is expected to make a major announcement after the IEBC declared President Uhuru Kenyatta winner of the repeat election on Monday.

The eagerly awaited announcement comes after a group of NASA leaders on Saturday threatened that they would swear in their party leader as President.

Led by Siaya Senator James Orengo, the opposition leaders noted that they would not recognize President Kenyatta’s victory adding that the repeat presidential elections were not credible.
