National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga has revealed that President Uhuru Kenyatta's government has denied him the pension he is entitled to as former Prime Minister.
Odinga was speaking on Thursday during his talk at Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in the United States where he revealed that he had been stripped off his bodyguards.
The former PM was responding to questions about the recently concluded fresh Presidential election and his take on how the process was conducted.

“We are not just looking for jobs. That is a very cheap way of looking at things.
"We want to address this fundamental issue of governance. So that is why we are saying it cannot be a quick fix.
“I have never gone to the Government to beg. They have even refused to give me a pension as a Prime Minister as I am entitled to. They withdrew my security team two months ago but I do not care as I hired a private one," stated Odinga.
In 2015, President Kenyatta declined to assent to a Bill which could have handed Odinga and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka millions of shillings in retirement benefits.
Government officials cited the two leaders’ active involvement in politics as the reason for Mr Kenyatta’s refusal to sign the Bill.
Had Mr Kenyatta assented to the Bill, Mr Odinga would have pocketed a lump sum package of Sh21.6 Million and a monthly stipend of Sh960,000 for the rest of his life.
Mr Musyoka would, on the other hand, have pocketed Sh19.8 Million plus a Sh880,000 monthly stipend.
