How Larry Madowo is Preparing For Possible Arrest

Sidebar host Larry Madowo has signed anticipatory bail papers after it emerged that police were on the hunt for him and other NTV journalists including Linus Kaikai, Ken Mijungu.

International journalist Jina Moore revealed that Madowo had spent the night at the NTV newsroom and signed the papers that allow one to be bailed out faster in case of arrest.

NTV, on Wednesday, confirmed that police officers were outside Nation Centre waiting to arrest the journalists.

"Plainclothes officers reportedly outside Nation Centre, allegedly to arrest NTV's Linus Kaikai, Larry Madowo and Ken Mijungu for unclear reasons," the NTV Newsroom posted on it's Twitter account.

The move came after the government switched off Citizen TV, NTV and KTN News on Tuesday for airing the swearing in of National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga as the People's President.

Kaikai, NMG Managing Editor, stated on social media: "When a raging mad bull charges at a crowd, it will not matter that you are a vegetarian. Have a truthful day Kenya!"

Mijungu on Tuesday and Wednesday investigated the disabling of transmission from the Communication Authority's Limuru base.

Interior CS Fred Matiang'i later affirmed that the switch-off would remain in place until investigations into the swearing-in and the opposition's activities were complete.

He stated that the broadcasts would lead to incitement and had to be shut down.

He had earlier outlawed the Miguna Miguna-led National Resistance Movement (NRM), a wing of NASA, and accused the group of planning to cause mayhem.
