Joshua Kuttuny Warns Govt Against Arresting NASA Leaders

Cherangany lawmaker, who is a member of the ruling Jubilee Party, Joshua Kuttuny, has warned the government against arresting NASA legislators.

The Cherangany Member of Parliament argued that the government's move to arrest opposition lawmakers was going to work in their favor and make them more popular with the masses.

Kuttuny urged Jubilee to ignore NASA and work towards the election of Deputy President William Ruto in 2022.

He maintained that the opposition had already lost direction and there is no way Raila Odinga’s oath can destabilise the government since President Uhuru Kenyatta is in power.

Speaking on Monday in Kachibora, Kuttuny noted: "The arrests of those who helped him (Raila) take the oath should stop because they have no positive impact on the government".

“It was NASA's plan to issue threats so that they can cause chaos after its leaders are arrested," he added.

Ruaraka legislator Tom Kajwang, lawyer Miguna Miguna and Makadara MP George Aladwa have so far been arrested in connection with the 'swearing-in' of Odinga.

Kuttuny also chimed NASA co-principals Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang'ula for failing to attend the ceremony.

“I also laughed at Mudavadi and Kalonzo for failing to attend Raila’s swearing-in. Luhyas are strong. I have never seen cowards like the two," Kuttuny chimed.

He further noted: When a Luhya is ready for circumcision, he will always face the circumciser and not escape to the maize plantation like what happened with the two".
