When issuing the title deeds to the residents, Uhuru announced that the National Government would set aside Ksh4 Billion to cater for the repair of roads in Nairobi.

“We are working with the county government in ensuring that the state of roads has improved in the county. The national government have provided Ksh4 billion to supplement the county’s budget on the repairs,” he noted.

Uhuru also warned contractors against doing shoddy work on the repairs citing that the government will be keenly inspecting their progress.

He also urged citizens to help monitor the contractors and report to the government in case the construction takes longer than expected.

Residents in Eastlands have lived in fear of losing their land to grabbers, as some of them acquired property more than 30 years ago but lacked title deeds.
