IG Joseph Boinnet Announces Change of Guard at RECCE, GSU, Kenya Police

Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet on Friday made a major reshuffle at the national police service which includes the presidential escort service. 

The reshuffle that affected about 14 officials will see the Commanding Officer of the RECCE Company, Mr Josephat Kirimi now head the Presidential Escort Unit (PEU).

Outgoing PEU Commandant Omar Bashane will become the new Deputy Commandant of the GSU. Current Deputy Commandant of the GSU Mr Douglas Kirocho was promoted to head the Unit.

The shake-up will also affect the current regional commanders in Central and Rift Valley as well as County Commanders in Kisumu, Nakuru, Bomet, Kilifi, Murang'a and Turkana.

The presser seen by Kenyans.co.ke indicated that Francis Munyambu and Solomon Mutua will take up the position of Regional Commanders in the Central and Rift Valley regions respectively.

Kisumu, Nakuru and Bomet County Commissioners will be Job Kiprotich, Weston G. Mwamba and Elias K. Nyaga respectively.

Samuel Ndanyi from the Embakasi AP Training College will take up the position of County Commander at Kilifi while Elisha Ng'etich and Mohamed Abdi will take up the same position in Murang'a and Turkana respectively.

Nairobi's acting Staffing Officer James Mwaniki was officially confirmed to take up the position.

John Njuguna Kamau was appointed to take up leadership at the Kenya Police College in Kiganjo replacing Job Kiprotich who has been posted to Kisumu county command.
