Malik Obama's Wife Locked Out of Mama Sarah's Home

Malik Obama's wife was on Monday morning denied access to Mama Sarah Obama's homestead in Kogelo before the visit by the former US President.

Covering the event live, Citizen TV journalist Sam Gituku disclosed that Sheila Anyango was not allowed into the compound 'as per orders by the security department.'

"There is very limited access and the wife of Malik Obama was denied entry when she tried to access the compound," he stated.

Villagers flocked the home and the foundation although only accredited guests granted access.

He noted that Siaya Governor Cornel Rasanga's motorcade had made its way into the compound ready for the meeting with some US security nationals manning the place.

Obama and his grandmother will then head to the Sauti Kuu Foundation where he is the chief guest at the launch of a youth sports centre.

Malik has in the past openly criticised Barack over differences in ideologies.

In 2016, Malik came out guns blazing as he accused Obama of ignoring his family and caring little about Africa.

He endorsed then-Republican candidate Donald Trump for the Presidency and hit out at Barack, refused to address his role, if any, in preparations being made by Obama's family and the local community to welcome him.

“President Obama is my brother and I love him, but he is a hypocrite. He wants nothing to do with Africa despite campaigning on a platform of helping to transform the continent,” he stated at the time.

During an interview prior to Barack's visit, Malik categorically declined to comment on anything to do with Obama's visit or the planned establishment of Barack Obama University in K'ogelo.
