Flights Disrupted at JKIA Due to Bad Weather

Flights into and out of the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) were disrupted on Thursday due to bad weather.

Planes that were expected to land at JKIA in the morning were diverted to other airports, among them Moi International Airport in Mombasa.

"Good morning, we are experiencing flight disruptions at JKIA due to poor visibility caused by fog. Several flights are being diverted to alternative airports as we monitor the situation," Kenya Airways tweeted.

They further apologised to passengers for the inconvenience caused.

Below are the flights that have been affected according to the airline:

KQ117 AMS-NBO revised ETA 0940h

Visibilility along Jogoo and Mombasa Roads was also seriously affected by the fog.

Motorists driving towards the Nairobi Central Business District (CBD) are advised to be careful on the roads.

They are cautioned to slow down as driving at normal speeds in foggy weather can get dangerous.

Drivers are also advised to used low-beam headlights to ensure other drivers see them rather than high-beam lights as fog consists of tiny water droplets that spread and reflect light.

Most importantly, motorists are advised to focus on the road entirely due to the poor visibility.
